Dong Van Karst Geopark (Ha Giang) – Video

Dong Van Karst Global Geopark in Ha Giang province near the Chinese border is hilly and mountain regions – named by UNESCO as one of 77 sites with important geological and cultural heritage. Almost all the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark is covered by karst formations that are about 400 million years old and has two protected areas. This whole area is located at an altitude of 1000-2000m above sea level and covers an area of about 2 400 km². In the whole province of Ha Giang are several ethnic groups and minorities, including in Dong Van Geopark, according to information about 17 ethnic minorities in this geopark. Many sites are also inaccessible for ordinary travelers and protected and so it is perhaps too well and hopefully it will continue.
